REFORMER FAQ

We understand you may have some questions. Here, you'll find answers to the most common questions about our classes, pricing, and studio policies.

About the Classes

How do I book a class?

You can book classes through the StudioBookings app.

What if I’m running late?

Unfortunately, we can’t let you into the class if you’re more than 5 minutes late. Our team have been instructed to turn you away if you are more than 5 minutes late for safety reasons and to avoid class disruption.

How do waitlists work?

If you are bumped into a class from the waitlist more than 18 hours before the class is due to start, this is automatically treated as a usual booking and the 18 hour cancellation policy applies.

E.g. If you are on the Waitlist for the Wednesday 8am class on 17 August and you get bumped in on Sunday 14 August at 1pm, you have until Tuesday 16 August at 1.59pm to cancel out of that class if you can no longer attend.

Can I cancel my class?

If you need to cancel class, please do so at least 18 hours before your class to give someone else the chance to take your spot. If you cancel after that time, you will lose your class credit. If you fail to show up for class, you will lose your class credit.

What if I can’t do everything in class?

No problem! Trainers offer options for a lot of what we do in class, so you can dial the workout down or up as needed. You are encouraged to take breaks where you need them.

How old do you have to be to take a class?

You need to be 16 or over to take a class. Children 13-15 years old may attend a class but must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Can I do a class if I’m pregnant or returning to exercise postpartum?

Yes absolutely, just consult with your health-care practitioner prior to any exercise and inform the instructors.

Do you offer corporate events or private classes?

We offer private classes and class exclusives. To find out more, get in touch with Rhiana Rhiana.sweat@gmail.com.

How do concession cards and class credit expiry work?

Sweat Reformer Pilates offers a range of concession options with different validity options. Our concessions are loaded with either a 5 week or 10 week validity to give you enough time to book classes in advance but also motivate you to make Sweat Reformer Pilates part of your weekly routine.

Please ensure there are classes on our timetable that you are able to attend before purchasing one of our class concession packages.

We honour the validity dates that are advertised. In the event of an extreme, unforeseeable circumstance that impacts your ability to use class credit before it’s expiry, please get in touch before your credit credit expires to discuss a possible extension. Any extensions are made on a case by case basis. There is no guarantee credit can be extended beyond its expiry date.

Do you offer credit refunds?

If you believe you require a refund due to extreme, unforeseen circumstances, please contact us. Any refund requests will be considered on a case by case basis and at the discretion of Sweat Reformer Pilates Management. Please note 5% of your credit is non refundable as it covers admin and credit card fees.

Expired credit will not be refunded.

If you are concerned that you are not going to be able to use your credit please get in touch with us before it is expired.

About our Studio

Here’s what you should know before your first session:

  1. Watch our Introduction Video: We highly recommend all new clients view our introduction video before attending your first Reformer Pilates class. You can access this video here.

  2. Studio Arrival: Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your first session. When you arrive at our studio for the first time, introduce yourself and let us know this is your first time. Our team will show you around, and address any queries you may have. We are here to help and support you.

  3. Grip Socks:  To maintain good hygiene within our studio and on our equipment, we ask all clients to wear grip socks to all classes. We have grip socks available for purchase at the studio for $15.

How do I book a class?

You can book classes through the StudioBookings app.

What should I wear?

Exercise clothing, something that won’t restrict your range of motion. You’ll also need to bring some grip socks (compulsory) which you can buy at reception (or bring your own).

When should I arrive?

Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the class so that we can start on time!

If it’s your first class, please read our New to Reformer Pilates section at the top of this page.

What do I do when I get there?

Our front entrance is located in the courtyard area. Place your shoes and any personal belongings in the baskets provided underneath the bench seat. We want to ensure that the reformer aisles are kept clear of personal belongings and props so that the instructor can move freely throughout the studio.

Then relax on your reformer while you wait for the class to begin.

Learn more about Reformer Pilates

What is Reformer Pilates?

The reformer is a bed-like frame with a sliding carriage that is attached to one end of the machine via springs. The resistance of the springs and body weight are what make the carriage more or less difficult to move along its frame.

The reformer can be used lying down, standing, kneeling or on all fours which enables a wide range of exercises and variations. The reformer comes with a multitude of attachments (think pulleys, straps, foot bar and platforms) which makes it such a dynamic piece of equipment.

Who is Reformer Pilates for?

Reformer Pilates is beneficial for all from everyday people to people rehabilitating injuries , from people with limited mobility to athletes, from people with low fitness level to the most experienced fitness enthusiast.

What are the benefits of Reformer Pilates?

  • Provides a full-body workout,  you can work a variety of muscles simultaneously or in isolation which provides you with endless exercises.

  • Improves flexibility, strength, and balance by using controlled and fluid movements with varied spring tensions.

  • Challenges overall body control, for example standing on the carriage or utilizing one leg at a time. This engages your core muscles and requires coordination, thus enhancing balance and stability.

  • Offers resistance and variety, the resistance level can easily be adjusted using the springs which offer a range of exercises and layering variations, making the reformer workouts new, exciting, and effective.
